How long have you been photographing seniors?
2018 will be my seventh year doing senior sessions! I started when I was only fifteen (Yep! You read that right!). So here I am, an energetic and spontaneous 22-year-old who has somehow managed to spend a third of her life so far doing what she loves. I think youth and experience make a pretty cool, if unlikely, combination.
What's a senior session like?
Fun. Laid-back. Spontaneous.
Senior sessions are about celebrating individuals, and I incorporate that in the entire experience from picking a location to post-processing. I'm all about capturing what's uniquely you in the most artistic way I can. While I always make sure you get some more traditional shots to hand-in to the yearbook committee, if you want a photographer who will just take a few nice snapshots, then we might not be the best fit. But, if dancing on a rooftop at sundown, hanging out at your favorite diner, or spinning in your old prom dress outside a cathedral sounds like your idea of a good time, then let's do this thing!
How much does a session cost?
Also, here's a preview of the things I'll probably say 1,000 times during your session:
"I just had a GREAT idea!
"Wait, is this cool or weird? Let's do it anyways!"
"Okay, now pretend that Chris Pratt is about to kiss you."
I offer three standard packages that range from $375 to $550 in price. I also offer a customizable option that begins at $400. The package price covers shooting time, editing, and digital downloads of your images.
Do you charge for travel?
Outside of a 50 mile radius of Kansas City, MO; Springfield, MO; or Omaha, NE, I charge $0.50 per mile round-trip.
Are there any other fees?
What do packages include?
No way! I think hidden fees are the worst!
All packages include shooting time and a downloadable album of high-resolution edited images. The length of shooting time and number of outfits and locations depends on which package you choose.
How do I print my photos?
When will I get my pictures back?
I'll have your photos edited and ready for download 2 - 3 weeks after your session.
When you receive your photos, you'll have the option to order prints directly from your online album! You may also order prints from an alternative printer. I recommend artifactuprising.com.
What should I wear?
Whatever you want! I've had clients bring everything from thrift-store overalls to prom dresses. Just ask yourself this: What makes me feel the most like myself? That being said, I think everyone should get a picture in their favorite black dress.
Who chooses the location?
Before I start suggesting places, I want to know if there's a place that's special to you. Maybe your favorite memories are going to the zoo, you have an adorable front porch, you love performing on your high school stage, or you have a a favorite diner. If you have a place that's special to you, then let's go there! If you're fresh out of ideas, don't worry! I have plenty!
Can I bring someone with me?
Sure! Whatever makes you comfortable! Just be mindful of who you're bringing along. If you have a friend or family member that you love, but you worry that you might feel embarrassed, awkward, or judged in front of them, then it's probably best not to invite them. You want to make sure that you'll feel free to be yourself !
Is it okay if I bring my dog?
Ummm...YES! Please bring your dog!!!
